"With Stash, we now have mobile, PC, a web store, and a loyalty program all working together, so engaged players are rewarded everywhere they choose to play. It’s an ecosystem we couldn’t have built without Stash" — Alexander Ekvall, CEO and Co-Founder at Snowprint
About
Snowprint Studios, founded in Stockholm in 2015, is a mid-core, free-to-play mobile game developer. Their flagship title, Warhammer 40,000: Tacticus, is one of mobile gaming's leading tactical strategy titles.
Challenge
Meeting Tacticus Players on Every Screen, Without Adding Operational Drag
When Alexander Ekvall co-founded Snowprint Studios, he did so with a player-centric philosophy. He wanted to make it easy for people to enjoy their games and connect with friends wherever they were, which made mobile the natural starting point.
That accessibility was crucial for Snowprint’s flagship title, Warhammer 40,000: Tacticus. The live game has a deeply tactical Warhammer community invested in guilds and lasting friendships. So, as Tacticus grew in popularity, Alexander knew the next step was to bring it to PC.
“In order to truly meet the players where they want to play, we want to be on more screens and more devices so the players can choose,” shares Alexander.
Expanding the game’s footprint required a branded PC launcher that would let players install Tacticus, keep it updated, and handle delivery and patching automatically, without extra effort.
But building and maintaining a separate PC distribution system would have pulled Alexander’s engineers away from running Tacticus, shipping guild events, tuning balance, and delivering seasonal content.
Adding a new surface would also add payment complexity. If mobile, PC, and web all felt different, players wouldn’t know which store was official or which prices and offers to trust. Alexander and his team knew a web shop was the solution, but didn’t have the bandwidth to stand up and operate one that:
- Kept offers and payment flows consistent across mobile and PC
- Pulled directly from Tacticus’s existing configuration instead of a separate web‑only catalog
- Delivered an experience tuned for larger screens
loyalty system that would deepen engagement over time and reward long-term commitment.
Alexander and his team evaluated a handful of vendors but knew they needed a single partner who could offer everything they were looking for: a PC launcher and a web store with catalog mirroring, global reach, and loyalty mechanics. Only Stash met every requirement.
“Tacticus was built as a mobile-optimized experience, but that doesn’t necessarily translate to the best experience on a larger screen. We needed a PC and web experience that matched the game’s quality without adding a huge lift for our team.”
Solution
One Unified, Stash-Powered System Delivering Personalized Tacticus Experiences on Every Surface
Snowprint was Stash’s first partner, so the two teams worked closely to build the systems and integrations that power Tacticus’ PC and web presence.
With Stash’s launcher, Snowprint now has a seamless PC presence, covering installation, content delivery, and updates, with incremental patching that keeps downloads lightweight. PC players can download the game quickly, stay up to date without large re-installs, and jump back into play with minimal friction, instead of wrestling with separate installers or manual patches. This is exactly the kind of experience Alexander and his team had envisioned.
To turn this unified experience into ongoing value, Snowprint launched a loyalty program through Stash. Players earn rewards and climb through tiers across the mobile game, the web store, and the PC launcher, so activity in any one place counts toward their overall progress. And
Snowprint gains a structured way to recognize and retain its most engaged audience without breaking the experience across channels.
Snowprint now also has the kind of white-label web shop Alexander was looking for. It pulls its catalog directly from the same configuration files that already run Tacticus, so every price, offer, and live-ops update appears the moment they go live in-game, with no separate product list or manual asset uploads necessary. Because Stash plugs into Snowprint’s existing segmentation and eligibility logic, each player’s web store is personalized at runtime, showing only the offers that make sense for them. And payments work consistently across both in‑app purchases and the web store. Players see localized pricing wherever they play and can use their familiar payment methods.
To ensure the artwork and layout match precisely across all surfaces, Stash recreates Tacticus’s in‑game design, from character art to layout, so players immediately recognize it as the same official experience. This way, the game feels familiar, trustworthy, and personal whether someone arrives from a phone, a browser, or the launcher.
For Alexander, that’s the true value of the partnership: more than a one-time build, it’s a system his team and Stash keep refining together as Tacticus's live-ops calendar moves. What started as a way to bring one game to PC has become infrastructure that saves Snowprint time and resources while growing revenue and loyalty.
"With Stash, our web store looks exactly like the game, same artwork, same layout. That familiarity builds trust with players right away."
Results
75% Repeat Purchase Rate on Webshop With Stash-Built Loyalty Program
With Stash, Snowprint got everything it set out to build: a launcher and a mirrored web store that make up its PC presence, plus a loyalty program that ties together the entire ecosystem.
The early numbers back that up:
- 7x increase in Daily Webshop Revenue after the loyalty program launched
- +60% increase in first-time purchases on Day 1 of the loyalty program
- 75% repeat purchase rate on the webshop
- 4x DTC wallet share growth
Looking ahead, Snowprint has infrastructure they can keep leaning on as Tacticus’s live‑ops evolve and new opportunities arise. Alexander’s team will remain focused on gameplay, events, and content, while Stash continues to expand loyalty features and payment options. Alexander and his team feel confident knowing their players see their commitment recognized across every surface, and that the systems they’ve built together will support Tacticus’s growth for years to come.
“Working with Stash is a true collaboration. They bring proactive ideas to the table, and the results speak for themselves.”
